Despite appearances, The Canadian Charcoal Pit offers quality pizzas, burgers, hot dogs and other Canadian specialites that are a much better bet than the corporate chains.
In particular, the Prairie Dog is always a hit. Not, not an actual small mammal, but a type of deep fried (in a special mix of oils) hot dog that is then charcoaled and served with special relishes and salad. It is absolutely delicious and leaves you feeling more satisfied and less bloated than a kebab or burger.
That being said, the burgers are top notch too. Try Canadian Charcoal Pit burger with onion rings and hash browns or the Montreal with sweetcorn and salami. The fries (they are thin cut) can be hit and miss, sometimes under cut and under seasoned but sometimes crispy and golden. I haven't tried the pizzas but I hear only good things. -

In a nutshell this is your BMW of the burger bar world, it is reliable, the food is made well and it is a little pricey! I must admit on the odd occasion I have been convinced to get my hunger pangs after drinking dealt with here, I have actually been pleasantly surprised by the quality of the takeaway menu on offer ... and the tasty burgers! I have gathered that this is the place seasoned lads move onto after graduating from eating at the greasy less cared about burger bars! I would advise going here other than anywhere else in Altrincham after a lads night out! they also deliver ...!

Chicken Burger Royale a must here, especially good on the way home after a good night out! The onion rings and hash browns are also good too! Lots to choose from on the menu and they also do pizza's and burgers too.
